We are seeking a visionary, strategic, and hands-on Head of Sales to lead the design and roll-out of our sales function. This person will not only be responsible for generating direct revenue growth but for creating a scalable, repeatable, and teachable sales process that grows with the company. Drawing on personal experience, the ideal candidate will build and lead a high-performance sales team capable of delivering consistent results, while instilling a culture of excellence across the sales organization. This role requires someone who is both strategic and tactical, willing to roll up their sleeves and drive the sales strategy from inception through to execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Revenue Growth & Market Expansion
- Take a hands-on role in closing high-value deals, managing relationships with key clients, and generating significant revenue for the company.
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities, ensuring the company expands into lucrative segments and stays ahead of industry trends.
- Establish a feedback loop between customers, product, and leadership to help refine the product offering and ensure that the sales team is consistently delivering value to clients.
- Drive overall revenue growth, with a particular emphasis on increasing customer lifetime value (LTV), reducing churn, and maximizing conversion rates.
2. Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy focused on scalable, repeatable processes that align with company growth objectives.
- Lead market segmentation efforts to identify and prioritize target markets, key customer segments, and sales channels.
- Define the sales process, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) that guide the team toward sustainable growth.
- Work with leadership to align sales strategy with overall business goals and ensure cross-functional collaboration between our Consulting (Core Compass) , Subscriptions (Core Community) and Product (Core Platform) offerings www.cecg.io .
3. Sales Team Leadership
- Hire, train, and manage a high-performance sales team from the ground up, identifying and bringing in the right talent with the right mindset and skill set.
- Design and implement a sales training program rooted in principles of consistency, performance, and scalability, ensuring every salesperson understands the full sales process and can replicate it.
- Create an ongoing coaching culture where sales team members receive regular feedback, skill development, and performance reviews to foster continuous growth and improvement.
- Foster a proactive and collaborative environment where sales professionals are motivated to achieve and surpass targets.
- Establish and document standardized scripts, objection-handling frameworks, and proven closing techniques that can be replicated across different salespeople and prospects.
4. Performance Monitoring & Optimization
- Build robust sales forecasting, tracking, and reporting systems to monitor sales performance and revenue growth.
- Continuously evaluate sales performance through data and key metrics, iterating on the strategy and tactics as needed to optimize results.
- Implement CRM tools and systems (e.g., HubSpot) that support the team’s ability to track leads, manage pipelines, and measure success at every stage of the funnel.
- Lead quarterly sales reviews, analyzing outcomes, lessons learned, and improvement opportunities, while setting ambitious but achievable sales goals.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication
- Serve as the bridge between the sales team and other departments (e.g., resourcing, engineering, and finance) to ensure alignment on messaging, pricing, product offerings, and customer acquisition strategies.
- Partner with the engineering team to create effective lead generation campaigns, demand generation, and sales enablement tools to maximize conversions and customer retention.
- Effectively communicate the sales strategy and performance to the executive team and across the company, ensuring everyone is aligned on the sales vision and growth targets.
Establish Sales Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Revenue Growth: Achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
- Pipeline Growth: Expansion of sales pipeline with qualified opportunities.
- Sales Team Performance: Success in building a scalable team, with each member achieving or exceeding quotas.
Qualifications & Experience
1. Sales Leadership
- Minimum of 7-10 years of proven experience in a sales leadership role, with a demonstrated track record of scaling sales teams and driving revenue growth.
- Experience in building sales functions from the ground up, particularly in high-growth companies or startups.
- Previous success in implementing scalable, repeatable sales processes.
2. People Leadership
- Demonstrated success in hiring, managing, and developing sales teams that consistently achieve and exceed targets.
- Experience creating a strong sales culture, including coaching, performance reviews, and personal development for team members.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and align both the sales team and broader company around shared goals.
3. Process-Oriented
- Strong background in creating and documenting sales playbooks, processes, and systems.
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), sales automation tools, and performance tracking tools.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data to refine processes and improve performance.
4. Results-Driven
- A track record of consistently hitting or exceeding revenue targets in previous roles.
- Ability to balance long-term strategic initiatives with short-term revenue generation.
- Understanding of market dynamics and competitive pressures, with an ability to adapt quickly to changes.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: Base Salary £80.000 + Discretionary Bonus £20.000 + OTC £120.000 (uncapped) = £220.000 total first year OTE.
